I was looking for a lightweight jacket in a black color to go with more of my clothes (and not show dirt like some colors!). I've had a Columbia jacket before, so I knew that it would probably hold up well. I was not disappointed - it's a fine jacket!
It is that though - a jacket. I'd say that the best times to use it would be in the late fall to early spring. It is fine for winter and will keep you warm, unless there's a lot of cold sharp wind. Where I live, the average "winter" temperature is probably in the 30s. The jacket was lacking on a few occasions and I found myself wishing for my heavier coat. However, for basic outdoor use, town trips and general everyday wear, I think it works just fine. It keeps me warm indoors and comfortable outdoors - although I think it is better suited for cool days rather than cold ones. For an idea of how warm you'll be - think "heavy sweatshirt."

Some reviews stated that it had issues with static. I'm no fan of static, so that bothered me a little. It does have some, but it stays in the jacket. When you take the jacket off, off goes the static (for the most part). But really, what could be expected? It is fleece. Fleece just does that sometimes.

As to the fit - it probably runs a little small. I wear a medium in tees and a M to L in most other shirts. I ordered a large in the jacket, and it fits fine with some extra room to boot, but not enough that it's sloppy looking.

Overall, it's very nice, and I'm quite happy with it!
